Revan is a modern name with no established meaning; it is sometimes read as a form of Raven, the bird name, and sometimes compared to the Persian ravan, "soul". Its real source for most parents is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the 2003 video game whose hero, Revan, is a Jedi who fell to the dark side. In the United States Revan climbed from number 2381 in 2015 to a peak of number 1574 in 2021 and ranks number 1723 in 2025.
