Pepper is an English word name for the "spice" and the plant it comes from, with a peppy, upbeat sound that has long made it a nickname for lively girls. It became a given name in its own right through characters like Pepper Potts in the Iron Man comics and films. Pepper climbed from number 1736 in 2017 to a high of number 1403 in 2021 and stands at number 1907 in 2025.
