Patricio is the Spanish and Portuguese form of Patrick, from the Latin patricius, which means "nobleman" or "patrician", a member of the Roman upper class. Saint Patrick, the patron of Ireland, made it a Christian name across Europe, and in Spanish it has a formal, classic ring. In the United States Patricio stood at number 1843 in 2000, reached number 1434 in 2003 and ranks number 2346 among boys' names in 2025.
