Paislee is a modern spelling of Paisley, the Scottish town near Glasgow whose name probably comes from a word for "church"; the town also gave its name to the teardrop pattern printed on its famous shawls. Country singer Brad Paisley and the -lee ending of Kaylee and Rylee helped the name catch on in the American South. Paislee has been in the US top 1000 since 2012, peaked at number 284 in 2016 and has eased to 669 in 2025.
