Orion is the name of the giant hunter of Greek mythology, who was placed among the stars as one of the brightest constellations in the sky; its origin is uncertain, and it is often linked to the Greek horion, "boundary", or read simply as "hunter". The constellation has kept the name in the public eye for thousands of years. In the United States Orion has been in the top 1000 since 2000, peaked at number 300 in 2018 and ranks number 334 in 2025.
