Orhan is a Turkish name meaning "great leader" or "khan of the city", from or, a fortified place, and han, ruler. Orhan Gazi, the second Ottoman sultan, and the Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk are its most famous bearers. Orhan was almost unknown in the United States until the 2020s, jumped to number 1934 in 2022 and reaches number 1763 among boys' names in 2025, its best rank so far.
