Oden is an alternate spelling of Odin, the chief god of Norse mythology, whose name comes from the Old Norse odr and means "fury" or "inspired frenzy"; Oden is also the usual Swedish form. The spelling gives the mythological name a softer, surname-like look, close to Ogden or Auden. In the United States Oden has moved between numbers 1700 and 2300 for the past ten years, with a best rank of number 1691 in 2022, and stands at number 2033 in 2025.
