Novalie is a modern coinage that extends Nova, the Latin word for "new", with the soft -lie ending of Natalie and Rosalie. It has become fairly common in Sweden in recent years and is now spreading among American parents who like the Nova sound. In the United States Novalie rose from number 6402 in 2015 to a high of number 1498 in 2023 and ranks number 2531 in 2025.
