Nami is a Japanese name that means "wave", written with the character for the waves of the sea, though other characters can be used. Outside Japan it is best known from the navigator Nami in the manga and anime series One Piece. In the United States Nami was rare in 2015, at number 4823, and has risen steadily to number 1404 in 2025, its best rank so far.
