Mulani is a modern American coinage patterned on Hawaiian-style names such as Leilani, Kehlani and Milani, whose -lani ending means "heavenly" or sky in Hawaiian; it has no established meaning of its own and is best read as "a name in the style of Leilani". It is one of the newest names in the statistics. Mulani first appeared in 2016 at number 13914 and has climbed every year since to number 2576 in 2025, just below its 2024 peak of number 2453.
