Milani is a modern American name of uncertain origin, usually explained as a feminine form of Milan, which as a Slavic name means "gracious" or "dear" and as the name of the Italian city stands for fashion and style. It also echoes Hawaiian-sounding names such as Leilani and Kehlani. Milani has been in the US top 1000 since 2014, rose from number 667 in 2015 to a peak of 235 in 2022 and ranks 288th in 2025.
