Moriah is the Hebrew name of the mountain where Abraham was asked to sacrifice Isaac, later identified with the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Its meaning is debated and is usually given as "seen by God" or "chosen by God". Some parents also use it as a spelling of Mariah. Moriah ranked number 675 in 2000, its best year, has been outside the top 1000 since 2017 and sits at number 1093 in 2025.
