Miral is a name used in Arabic and Turkish families that is usually explained as "gazelle" or "deer", though it is sometimes linked to the Persian mir, "prince". It became better known through the Egyptian writer Rula Jebreal's novel Miral and its 2010 film adaptation. Miral has moved from around number 4600 among US girls in the mid-2010s to number 2805 in 2025, its best rank yet.
