Menachem is a Hebrew name meaning "comforter" or "consoler". It belonged to a king of Israel in the Bible, to Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin and to Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, whose Brooklyn-based movement explains much of the name's use in the United States. Menachem has sat near the edge of the top 1000 for decades, peaking at number 955 in 2010 and ranking number 1088 in 2025.
