Marielle is a French diminutive of Marie, the French form of Mary, a name of uncertain meaning that is usually explained as "beloved" or "bitter" and sometimes as "drop of the sea". It has the soft, elegant sound of Gabrielle and Danielle without being nearly as common. In the United States Marielle has stayed between roughly number 1450 and 2400 for 25 years: number 1771 in 2000, number 1461 in 2016 and number 1699 in 2025.
