Livy is a pet form of Olivia and Livia and so is usually read as "olive", the ancient symbol of peace; in a different register it is the English name of the Roman historian Titus Livius. Mark Twain called his wife Olivia by this nickname. As a name in its own right Livy stood at number 3820 in 2015, reached its best rank of 2963 in 2024 and sits at number 2979 in 2025.
