Lia is the Italian, Portuguese and Greek form of Leah, the Hebrew name of Jacob's first wife, which is usually explained as "weary" or, less often, "wild cow"; in many countries it is also a short form of names like Rosalia and Amelia. Its three letters make it one of the shortest full names in use. Lia has been in the US top 1000 since 2000, when it ranked number 764; it reached its best position of 188 in 2024 and stands at number 200 in 2025.
