Khyren is a modern American spelling of Kyren and Kieran, the Irish name Ciarán that means "little dark one", from ciar, black. The Kh- opening and -y- follow the pattern of Khalil and Kyree and are typical of names chosen by African American families in the 2020s. Khyren has climbed from number 6162 in 2015 to number 2321 in 2025, its highest US rank so far.
