Khloe is a modern spelling of Chloe, from the Greek chloe, which means "young green shoot" or "blooming" and was an epithet of the harvest goddess Demeter. The K spelling is almost entirely due to Khloé Kardashian, whose family's reality show launched in 2007. Khloe entered the US top 1000 in 2006, rocketed to a peak of number 42 in 2010 and has fallen steadily since, from number 101 in 2015 to number 272 among girls' names in 2025.
