Kensington is the name of a fashionable district of London, home to Kensington Palace, and goes back to Old English for the "estate of Cynesige's people". As a given name it is a modern American choice in the style of Kennedy and Kinsley, with the built-in nickname Kensi. In the United States it made the top 1000 just once, at number 974 in 2015, and has since drifted down to number 2839 in 2025.
