Kasper is the Scandinavian, Dutch and Polish spelling of Casper, the name tradition gives to one of the Three Wise Men; it is usually traced to a Persian word for "treasurer" or "treasure bearer". The K makes it look crisp and European, and it avoids the friendly-ghost association of Casper.
