Jibreel is an English spelling of the Arabic Jibril, the name of the archangel Gabriel in the Quran, which goes back to the Hebrew Gavriel and means "God is my strength" or "strong man of God". The angel is revered in Islam as the messenger who revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. In the United States Jibreel has climbed from number 6101 in 2000 to a peak of number 1878 in 2022 and ranks number 2131 in 2025.
