Janiyah is a modern American coinage that pairs the Jan- of Janae and Janelle with the melodic -iyah ending of Aaliyah; through Jane it is usually read as "God is gracious". The spelling with a final h follows the pattern of Aaliyah and Amiyah. Janiyah entered the US top 1000 in 2003, peaked at number 334 in 2009 and has drifted down to number 783 in 2025.
