Sariyah is a modern American spelling of Sariya, a name of uncertain origin usually traced to the Arabic sariya, "clouds at night" or "night traveler"; it is sometimes read as an elaboration of Sara, "princess". The -iyah ending links it to Aaliyah and Saniyah, which were popular in the same years. Sariyah was almost unused in 2000, entered the top 1000 in 2015, peaked at number 578 in 2023 and ranks number 625 in 2025.
