Jaire is a modern spelling of the biblical Jair, a Hebrew name that means "he shines" or "he enlightens", borne by one of the judges of Israel. Its recent American rise coincides with the career of the Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander, who entered the NFL in 2018. Jaire ranked number 7264 in 2015, reached number 1210 in 2023 and stands at number 1371 in 2025.
