Jaelani is a modern American name, a respelling of Jaylani that follows the pattern of Hawaiian-inspired favorites like Leilani and Kehlani; it has no established meaning of its own, although parents often borrow the "heavenly" sense of the Hawaiian lani. In Indonesia Jaelani is also a male name derived from the Arabic al-Jilani. For US girls Jaelani was too rare to be recorded in 2000; it jumped from number 7411 in 2015 to number 1933 in 2024 and ranked number 2246 in 2025.
