Grace

What does the name Grace mean?

Grace comes from the Latin gratia and means "grace" or "favor", in the religious sense of God's unearned kindness. The Puritans made it a given name in the 17th century, and actress Grace Kelly, later Princess of Monaco, gave it a touch of glamour. Grace ranked number 19 in the United States in 2000 and peaked at number 13 in 2003; it has eased down gradually since and ranks number 38 among girls in 2025.
