Goldy is a Yiddish name from Golde and means "gold", a term of endearment that became a given name among Ashkenazi Jews; Golda Meir, the Israeli prime minister, carried the fuller form. Today the spelling Goldy is used almost exclusively in Orthodox Jewish communities, which keep it on the charts. In the United States Goldy ranked number 4223 in 2000, peaked at number 2007 in 2023 and stands at number 2026 in 2025.
