Faigy is a Yiddish pet form of Feige or Faiga, a name usually explained as "bird", from the Yiddish word feygl. It is used almost exclusively in Hasidic and other strictly Orthodox Jewish communities, where it is often given in memory of a grandmother. In the United States the name is concentrated in New York, and it has moved up from number 2,082 in 2000 to number 1,275 in 2025, its best rank to date.
