Eziel is a modern name used mainly by Hispanic families in the United States; it is usually explained as a short form of Ezekiel, "God strengthens", or as a spelling of the biblical Uzziel, "my strength is God", and it clearly follows the sound of Aziel and Eziel's cousin Ezequiel. The name is new in US records and has been climbing fast: from number 6433 in 2021 to number 4935 in 2024 and number 2494 in 2025, its best rank yet.
