Ezariah is a modern American blend of Ezra and Azariah, two biblical names, and borrows its sense from them: Azariah means "God has helped" and Ezra "help". It is part of a wave of -iah names, from Josiah to Zechariah, that give a fresh twist to Old Testament sounds. Ezariah has risen almost every year from about number 5800 in 2015 to number 2041 in 2025, its best rank so far.
