Elora is a name of uncertain origin, usually explained as a modern variant of Eleanor, which is often read as "light" or "shining one", or as a blend of Ella and Lora; the ancient Ellora caves in India share the sound. Fantasy fans know it from Elora Danan, the baby princess in the 1988 film Willow and its 2022 series. Elora entered the US top 1000 in 2015 and has climbed to number 354 in 2025, its highest rank yet.
