Eleia is a modern coinage that sits between Elia, Leia and Eliana. It is usually understood as a form of Elia, the feminine of Elijah, which means "my God is Yahweh", though it also recalls Elea, the ancient Greek city in southern Italy. In the United States the name was almost unknown until it leapt from number 11499 in 2022 to number 2261 in 2023, and it reached number 2082 in 2025, its best rank yet.
