Elanith is a brand-new coinage with no established etymology; it looks like an elaboration of Elan or Elana, names linked to the Hebrew ilan, "tree", or to Elaine, "light", finished with the -ith ending of Lilith and Judith. Its sudden appearance suggests a shared source such as a fictional character, but the trigger is not documented. Elanith was never recorded in US birth statistics before 2025, when it debuted at number 2262 with 81 girls.
