Elina is a Finnish, Swedish and Greek form of Helen, a name that goes back to the Greek Helene and is usually explained as "torch" or "light". It is a favorite in Finland and the Baltic countries and, in a different tradition, a Spanish and Italian spelling of Elena. Elina entered the US top 1000 in 2018 and has risen steadily to number 764 in 2025, its best rank so far.
