Destin is the French word for "destiny" or "fate" and the masculine counterpart of the girls' favorite Destiny; it is also the name of a beach town on the Florida Panhandle named after fisherman Leonard Destin. The name fits neatly beside Dustin, Justin and Austin. Destin peaked in the United States at number 727 in 2001, dropped out of the top 1000 in the 2010s and ranks at number 1612 in 2025.
