Weston is an English surname from one of the many villages of that name, and means "west town" or "western settlement". Like Easton and Preston it joined the American first-name repertoire through the fashion for surnames with a rugged, outdoorsy sound. Weston ranked number 397 in the United States in 2000, rose from number 120 in 2015 into the top 100 in 2021 and reached number 55 among boys in 2025, its highest rank ever.
