Delilah is a Hebrew name usually explained as "delicate" or "delightful", though some scholars read it as "weak" or "languishing". In the Book of Judges she is the woman who betrays Samson by cutting his hair, which kept the name out of use for centuries. The 2006 hit Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T's helped its modern revival. Delilah ranked number 674 in the United States in 2000, entered the top 100 in 2018 after standing at number 115 in 2015, peaked at number 50 in 2024 and ranks number 51 among girls in 2025.
