Davon is a modern American name, a variant of Devon, the English county named for the Celtic tribe of the Dumnonii, usually explained as "deep valley dwellers", and at the same time a blend of the Da- of David with the -von ending of Javon. It was most popular with African-American families in the 1990s. Davon ranked number 499 in 2000, left the top 1000 in the 2010s and stands at number 1978 in 2025.
