Dariana is a modern feminine elaboration of Darius, the Persian royal name usually explained as "possessing goodness" or "he who holds firm the good". With its -iana ending it fits alongside Adriana and Mariana and is popular mainly in Hispanic American families. In the United States Dariana peaked at number 837 in 2000, when it was still a top 1000 name, and ranks 1154 in 2025 after a slow recovery from number 1656 in 2017.
