Chozen is a modern American respelling of the word "chosen", a name that tells a child he was wanted and set apart. It has a pop-culture hook too: Chozen Toguchi, the rival from The Karate Kid Part II, returned in the series Cobra Kai from 2021 on. The numbers show how new the name is: Chozen had fewer than five US births in 2000, was still number 1480 in 2022, entered the top 1000 in 2023 and ranks number 523 in 2025.
