Cattaleya is a spelling of Cataleya, a modern name taken from the cattleya, a showy tropical "orchid" named after the English horticulturist William Cattley. The name came into use after the 2011 action film Colombiana, whose heroine is called Cataleya, and the double-t spelling stays closer to the flower. Cattaleya has risen from number 4318 in 2015 to number 1375 in 2024 and stands at number 1479 in 2025, still outside the US top 1000.
