Cambria is the Latin name for Wales, derived from the Welsh Cymry, which means "compatriots" or "fellow countrymen". It is also a town on the California coast and a geological period, which gives it a scholarly, place-name feel. In the United States Cambria entered the top 1000 in 2011, peaked at number 933 in 2012 and has since drifted down to number 1993 in 2025.
