Brielle is a short form of Gabrielle, the feminine of Gabriel, and so means "God is my strength". It is also the name of a small harbor town in the Netherlands, though American parents mostly chose it for its soft sound and its closeness to Belle. In the United States Brielle rose from number 703 in 2000 to a top 100 peak of number 99 in 2018 and ranks 143rd in 2025.
