Briley is a modern American name of uncertain origin, usually explained either as a blend of Riley with the B of Brynlee and Brielle or as a form of the English surname Brierley, "briar clearing". It rode the wave of -ley girls' names in the 2000s. Briley entered the US top 1000 in 2006, peaked at number 622 in 2009 and has since dropped out, ranking 2199 in 2025 with 84 births.
