Braylon is a modern American blend that combines the opening of Brayden with the ending of Jaylon or Waylon, so it has no ancient meaning and is best read as a "blend of Brayden and Jaylon". The name took off after wide receiver Braylon Edwards was drafted into the NFL in 2005. Braylon entered the US top 1000 in 2004, peaked at number 218 in 2009 and has drifted down to number 848 among boys in 2025.
