Braelyn is a modern American coinage that pairs the Brae- of names like Braden and Brianna with the popular -lyn ending; it has no traditional meaning and is best understood as "a modern blend", though brae is also the Scots word for a hillside. It appeared in the early 2000s together with Raelynn and Adalyn. Braelyn entered the US top 1000 in 2006, peaked at number 426 in 2011 and ranks number 1080 in 2025.
