Bohdi is a spelling of Bodhi, the Sanskrit and Pali word for "awakening" or "enlightenment", the state the Buddha reached under the bodhi tree. The name took off in America with the surfer spirituality of the 2010s and the rise of Bodhi, and this spelling adds an h for a more familiar look. Bohdi was unrecorded in 2000, ranked number 4737 in 2015 and has climbed to number 1366 in 2025, its highest rank yet.
