Bodey is a variant of Bodie and Bode, names that are usually traced to the Germanic Bodo, meaning "messenger", or to the California ghost town of Bodie. Olympic skier Bode Miller gave the sound a sporty, outdoorsy image in the 2000s. In the United States Bodey is the rarest of the spellings: it has climbed from around number 4000 to number 2841 in 2025, its best rank so far.
