Bobbi is a feminine pet form of Roberta or Barbara that became a given name in its own right; through Robert it goes back to the Germanic elements for "bright" and "fame". It has a friendly, mid-century American ring, in the company of Billie and Frankie, and is enjoying a modest revival. Bobbi ranked number 1474 in 2000, drifted down to the mid-2000s and has climbed back to number 1834 in 2025.
